Process description: Circa 1993, a large scale project began with CDOT to digitize parcels along the I70 corridor. BLM connecting sheets were sent to a vendor in Florida to scan. Since that time a multitude of interns, part time staff, then full time staff digitized the remaining areas from the connecting sheets, corrected the original florida vendor data and entered metes & bounds parcels based on BLM PLSS data.
Over time the BLM PLSS data has been re-surveyed and County parcels have been adjusted - for the most part.
In 1999, Clear Creek aquired its 1st set of Aerial photography for the I70 corridor, we paneled about 70 locations (parcel corners, PLSS sections). All County parcels were spatially adjusted to these 70 locations in the I70 corridor which pulled & pushed many parcels to incorrect spatial locations.
Beginning in 2001 the purchased two Trimble GeoExplorer 3 GPS units, and started collecting points for mining claims, county boundaries, plss corners. Many areas of mining claims were adjusted and continue to be adjusted.
Beginning in 2005 we started collecting lot corner information with the GPS units. We started adjusting subdivisions in 2007.
