Description: In 2007, Clear Creek County along with Clear Creek Watershed Foundation wanted to find areas in the County that might potentially be suitable for large scale photovoltaic (PV) renewable energy farms.We ran an analysis and this data layer was the result.Our analysis included:Aspect: Those areas that face southerly.Beyond 1 mile of maintained roads: We excluded areas beyond 1 mile of maintained roads.Since we did not have electric distribution line data we assumed that most maintained roads didIt was also important to note that these areas would potentially need some sort of accessRoadless Areas: We excluded any area that fell within the USFS 2001 Inventoried Roadless areas (Class CATEGORY Below)1B = Inventoried Roadless Areas where road construction and reconstruction is prohibited.1B-1 = Inventoried Roadless Areas that are recommended for wilderness designation in the forest plan and where road construction and reconstruction is prohibited.WE DID NOT EXCLUDE THESE AREAS: 1C = Inventoried Roadless Areas where road construction and reconstruction is not prohibited.Slope: We excluded those areas greater than 30 degreesWilderness Area: We excluded wilderness areas.
